Question:
I would like to 'import' an audio file from a CD. The instructions in the
'HELP' menu are helpful but unfortunately when I try both methods (File -
Import- Audio track or Audio CD. or go to POOL menu) neither options work.
The Audio CD options are not accessible in the drop-down of either menu (See
attached). Can you help?
Answer:
- No problem! First, create a new Project - File Menu / New Project / 16 track MIDI Sequencer. You must always open a new project or existing file before this option is available.
- Insert an Audio CD into your hard-drive. If a window pops up asking you to play the audio cd - simply close it.
- Go to the File Menu and select import / Audio CD
- You should now see a list of Audio tracks which are available from the CD - select one by clicking in one of the white boxes to the left of the track.
- It's possible to audition the track first to see if its the one you want to use - select it and click Play
- When you are happy with your selection click on Grab to download the track to your computer.
- The track will now start downloading - depending on the size it may take some time. Click on Stop at anytime to cancel the audio download.
- The audio track will download into the folder you specified when creating the new project.
- Within the Grabbed Files section of this window you'll see any completely downloaded tracks. These tracks are now in WAV format, which is now compatible with Cubase LE.
- Click OK when complete.
- The stereo audio file has now been imported directly into your arrangement window. Click on Play to listen to the audio!
If you have any questions regarding Cubase LE please post to on this forum. You may also find your answer here.
